All About Peeps, aka Mandy

My name is Mandy and I am 32 years old. I have been married to my husband for 13 years and we have 2 dogs but no children. I was thin nearly my whole life until I quite smoking. I traded cigg cravings for sugar and my weight reflected that. I tried numerous diets only to gain the weight back and then some. Finally I looked into WLS. I had my lap band surgery on February 28, 2007. I was good at first with that but then started to have problems at about 2 years out. I got sick of the back and forth with the band & the general finickyness of it and decided to check into a revision. I knew from experience that I needed a procedure with a malabsorption component and so I narrowed it down to RYN or DS. I chose the DS and had it done December 1, 2009. Stay tuned as my journey progresses. My blog posts may not be always interesting but I promise to always be honest. *Toodles*

About Peep’s Blog

I have kept a private blog chronicling my weight loss surgery journey since 2007. I have received a great deal of inquiries regarding my experiences and this is what prompted me to move my blog to a public forum so that others can learn from my experiences. That said, I have copied and pasted my old threads from my private blog to this one so my readers can see my journey progress complete with background. These have been tagged & categorized as “2008 archives” and “2009 archives”. I have titled the posts with the date they were originally posted. I have posted from oldest to newest.

I’ve had both the Lap-Band and also the DS (Duodenal Switch) surgeries and can offer candid and honest information from them both based on my experiences. I wish I could have had access to honest information before I had my Lap-Band surgery. Please feel free to comment if you have questions or if you would prefer it be kept private, you may e-mail me at awlschronicle@gmail.com. Please stay tuned for more updates. Peace & Blessings.
